Initiatives & newsNBCC confirms dates for the 2025 week of action to target business crime

The National Business Crime Centre (NBCC) has confirmed that the 2025 Safer Business Action (SaBA) Week will take place on Monday November 10th as part of the ongoing police and partnership response to tackling retail crime, Anti-social behaviour and other crimes impacting businesses in local communities.

Last year the SaBA Week resulted in over 750 arrests across the country. Police and partners held over 640 SaBA days and events involving more than 3,400 police officers and PCSOs.

The week of action will see Business Crime Reductions Partnerships (BCRPs), Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and the private security industry working together to tackle prolific offenders, offer crime prevention advice and carry out joint patrols.

The SaBA Week will form part of the national ‘Tackling Retail Crime Together’ strategic plan launched by the Minister of State for Policing and Crime Prevention in July.

Supt Lisa Maslen, lead for the NBCC said:The NBCC week of action has become an important event in the calendar for police, partners and the business community. There were some excellent results last year in terms of arrests and convictions but also in building long term engagement and trust with local businesses. Every police force in the country gets involved and we have no doubt that the same level of support and commitment will be shown again."

Businesses trading on high streets and town centres are also encouraged to get involved and display the ShopKind messaging in their stores. All the ShopKind materials are free to download here.

The NBCC social media channels on LinkedIn and Twitter will have updates of the activity taking place throughout the week.
